In the last few years, Jofra Archer has gone on to become an absolute sensation in the cricketing world. Ever since he made his Big Bash League (BBL) debut in the 2017-2018 season, he has managed to grab the headlines time and again. His exploits in the Australian T20 league resulted in him getting an IPL contract in 2018.

After making his Indian Premier League (IPL) and international debut in 2018 and 2019 respectively, the speedster has gone on to dominate the best of the best batters. Bowling with the new ball? Bowling at the death? He can do it all.

However, despite having a good IPL career so far for the Rajasthan Royals, they decided not to retain him ahead of the mega auction. Thus, a lot of teams would be targeting him. Which team is most likely to get the English pacer?

Here are five teams that can pick Jofra Archer in the mega auction:

1) Mumbai Indians

The Mumbai Indians (MI) have always believed in having a strong pace attack. Be it the Mitchell Johnsons or the Trent Boults, the five-time champions have always had a world-class pacer to accompany Jasprit Bumrah.

Despite being one of the strongest IPL teams of all time, the Rohit Sharma-led side has struggled to find a pacer who can perform the same role as their star Indian pacer. When they defend a total, there have been several instances where the opposition teams have launched a counter-attack on them, and have looked to play aggressively.

In such a scenario, Rohit Sharma brings Bumrah for an extra over. Thus, this denies the 27-year-old a chance to bowl the extra over at the death. However, with Archer around, the MI skipper can give the Gujrat pacer an extra over at the start, as he still has the English bowler who can perform the same role as him at the death.
