IPL 2022: Auctioneer Hugh Edmeades to begin duties on day two of mega auction

The IPL 2022 mega auction is currently underway in Bangalore wherein the first day is almost towards the end and the second day will see action on February 13. However, there was one incident in the middle of the day that shook all and it was auctioneer Hugh Edmeades’ abrupt fall off the stage. Edmeades who was carrying on the proceedings all well fell off reportedly due to postural hypotension.
However, as per the latest reports, Edmeades will kick off his duties on day two of the mega auction. Former IPL auctioneer Richard Madley gave an update on his friend’s health. It was reported at that time only that Edmeades fainted due to postural hypotension and there is nothing serious with his health.

For the information, Edmeades fell off while the aggressive bid was on for Sri Lankan spinner Wanindu Hasaranga. However, after the unfortunate incident, a short break was called which was followed by the lunch break.
“Mr. Edmeades, the IPL Auctioneer, had an unfortunate fall due to Postural Hypotension during the IPL Auction this afternoon. The medical team attended to him immediately after the incident & he is stable,” IPL had informed back at that time.
After the incident, Edmeades was told to rest while Charu Sharma was called by the authorities to begin the proceedings. The IPL mega auction is currently up in Bangalore wherein the majority of the big names earned a team for themselves on Saturday, 12 February. On the other hand, day two of the big event will see the rest of the players going into various teams.
Around 590 players are going under the hammer in the mega auction wherein Ishan Kishan became the second most expensive buy in IPL history after Yuvraj Singh. as he got roped in for INR 15.25 crore.
