Ahead of the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), the Delhi Capitals (DC) side has brought in Biju George as the fielding coach of the franchise. And, a promoter of the Delhi Capitals (DC) franchise confirmed the development.

Biju has experience of working with the Indian women’s cricket team in the past as well. He has even served the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) as well as the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) outfits as well.

The promoter stated that George has been signed up for the 2022 IPL season and he has a lot of experience in international cricket. “We have taken him for the season and he comes with good years of experience – both in IPL and international cricket,” said a promoter of the Delhi Capitals franchise according to Cricbuzz.

Delhi Capitals will play their first match on 27th March 2022 against Mumbai Indians

The Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals (DC) side will play their first match of the tournament against the Mumbai Indians (MI) on 27th March 2022. One of the main issues for the Delhi Capitals will be the fact that two of their premier bowlers, Lungi Ngidi and Anrich Nortje might not be available for the initial few matches that the Delhi Capitals will play in the 2022 IPL season.

Lungi Ngidi might get named in the South African squad for the two-match Test series against Bangladesh which will end on 12th April 2022 while Nortje is still not completely fit. The Delhi Capitals qualified for the knockout stages of IPL 2021 but lost to the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the second Qualifier of the tournament. The Knight Riders beat the Delhi Capitals with 3 wickets to spare in the second Qualifier of IPL 2021 to qualify for the summit clash of the competition.

The Delhi Capitals will arrive in the city of Mumbai on 10th March 2022 ahead of the 15th edition of the IPL. The Rishabh Pant-led side has not won the IPL title yet.
