Defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have made a poor start to their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 campaign. The Men in Yellow have lost all their three games in the tournament so far. To note, Indian allrounder Ravindra Jadeja was named skipper of CSK, as MS Dhoni stepped down ahead of the tournament.

With the Yellow Army set to play Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on April 9 (Saturday), the CSK players were seen having a recovery session by playing basketball. Jadeja, who is considered one of the finest allrounders in the cricketing world, also seems to be pretty good at basketball.

Talking about Jadeja’s numbers in IPL, the 33-year old has played 203 matches in which he has amassed a total of 2429 runs at an average of almost 27. The left-handed batter plays at a strike rate of 127.71 and has also stroked two fifties in the tournament.

With the ball, Jadeja has scalped 128 wickets at an average of 30.44. The left-arm spinner bowls at an economy of 7.62 and has one five-wicket haul under his belt. He emphasized the fact that he was mentally ready to lead the team and is backing his instincts to captain the side

Meanwhile, the defending champions CSK will look to bounce back with a win over SRH. They started their campaign with a defeat against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their opening match, before losing their next two encounters against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Punjab Kings (PBKS). However, the four-time champions skipper, Jadeja is hopeful that CSK can soon get the momentum in their favour.
