IPL 2022: Deepak Hooda increases his base price INR 40 lakh to 75 lakh, 10 players to added to auction players list

India all-rounder Deepak Hooda has been upgraded to the capped category in the IPL Auction player list. He made his international debut in the recently concluded ODI series between India and West Indies in Ahmedabad. Hooda has also increased his base price from INR 40 lakh to 75 lakh following his much-awaited debut. In the two ODIs of the three-match series he played, the all-rounder scored valuable 55 runs at a strike-rate of 96.49.

Meanwhile, the BCCI has also added 10 new players to the auction list. A total of 600 players will now go under the hammer on February 12 and 13 in Bengaluru. The likes of Agnivesh Ayachi, Hardik Tamore, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Mihir Hirwani, Monu Kumar, Rohan Rana, Sairaj Patil have been added to the list and they will be hoping to get a bid from the teams.

Moreover, three more Australian players – Aaron Hardie, Lance Morris and Nivethan Radhakrishnan – have also been added to the list at the eleventh hour. According to Cricbuzz, the India U19 players weren’t qualified according to the rules and their names haven’t been added.

97 players to go under the hammer on Saturday

Among the 600 players that will be auctioned over the weekend, 97, upto set no.11, will go under the hammer on Saturday. The auction will commence with a set of 10 marquee players and they will be part of the 54 capped players in the first six sets. The remaining five sets comprise of the uncapped players.

The second and final day of the mega auction will see the auction process continuing until player no. 161 and then the accelerated bidding process will start. Meanwhile, the BCCI has also informed the franchises about the addition of the new players in the list and have also been told that there haven’t been any last-minute withdrawals. The auction is set to begin at 12 PM IST in Bangalore with all the teams determined to build a strong squad.
