The 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is set to be a 10-team affair after two new teams, Ahmedabad and Lucknow joined them. The retentions for the upcoming edition took place a couple of weeks ago and the eight existing teams made their picks. While a number of picks were pretty much expected, a few of them raised quite a significant number of eyebrows.

The eight teams have already submitted their retention list to the Board of Control for Cricket in India. As per reports, the IPL 2022 mega auction is set to take place in the last week of December or the first week of January. A number of big names, including Shreyas Iyer, Rashid Khan, Hardik Pandya and Ishan Kishan will go under the hammer in the mega auction.
