Delhi Capitals (DC) will be playing their second match of IPL 2022 against the new entrants Gujarat Titans (GT). DC won their first game against the Mumbai Indians (MI) to start on a winning note, and so did GT, as they defeated the fellow debutants Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).
DC still have a few players missing from their squad, and their team will look stronger when they have all their overseas players available. But even with the shortage, DC was able to seal a victory against MI in a cut-throat game. Now that some of the foreign players are back, it will be interesting to see how DC changes its formation to get the best outcome.
Here’s DC’s predicted playing XI against Gujarat Titans:
Openers: Prithvi Shaw and Tim Seifert
Prithvi Shaw tried his best to stand there for his team in the last game when the other members of the top order failed, but he could not succeed in accomplishing his plans. But he is known for giving DC a good start in the powerplay, and thus he will open in the game.
Though Tim Seifert had a downfall in the previous game, it was just his first game. The four boundaries that he hit during his innings showed the power and aggression he has. The opening duo can lead the batting line-up from the front and their power-hitting skills will come in handy.
Middle Order: KS Bharat, Rishabh Pant (c & wk), Rovman Powell

Until DC get all their overseas players back, they will have to work it out with what they have in hand. As we witnessed KS Bharat’s game for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the IPL 2021 edition, his skills to play at the No. 3 spot will help DC.
Rishabh Pant will handle and manage the middle0order and anchor the innings. He couldn’t do it in the previous game, but he is one of the dependable players. Rovman Powell will be the power-hitter for DC. It is one skill that all the Caribbean players hold. They are the finishers of the game and known for taking the game a long way, and Powell will look to do the same for DC.
All-rounders: Lalit Yadav, Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur

Be it their innings with the bat, or the ball, these three players can nail it. Lalit Yadav was the major reason behind DC’s victory in their first game. His brilliant knock of 48*(38) helped DC chase down the score in the 19th over of the game. When the game looked like it was slipping in MI’s favor, Yadav and Axar Patel held the game tight for their team.
On the other hand, Axar Patel can bowl for all four overs and can bat down the order for a long time. Shardul Thakur will have to prove not just to his team, but also to others that the money spent on him has a worth. His performance under pressure flickers, but he can surely be the one to break any budding partnership in the opposition’s game.
Bowlers: Khaleel Ahmed, Kuldeep Yadav, Mustafizur Rahman

Khaleel Ahmed’s first game went well for him as he managed to pick two big wickets, those of Tilak Varma and Tim David. He can maintain his economy and bowl at a good pace for the team. Kuldeep Yadav marked his comeback into the IPL after being rested for the whole of 2021 with KKR.
He picked up three wickets in the game, which included two big names – Rohit Sharma and Kieron Pollard. He stood up to the chance given to him and proved his worth. Muztafizur Rahman is available to be picked for the upcoming game as he has joined the Delhi camp. He has high chances of being a part of the playing XI
