Rajasthan Royals would be hoping to end their wait for a second title in the upcoming IPL 2022 that gets underway on March 26. The team will be led by Sanju Samson for the second season in a row. The Royals will be pumped up heading into this edition having made some smart buys at the last month’s mega auction.

Meanwhile, it seems that one of RR’s social media pranks has not gone down well with their captain Sanju Samson and he did not hesitate in being honest about the same. However, apart from openly expressing his disappointment, the Kerala wicketkeeper-batter has reportedly unfollowed the franchise on the micro-blogging site as well.

Sanju Samson criticizes RR for latest social media post

It so happened that the Rajasthan Royals had lately posted a picture of Sanju Samson supposedly relaxing in the team bus. However, they decided to take their creative skills to the next level as they made use of some filters to make it look funnier. The image was captioned as “Kya khoob lagte ho.”

Nonetheless, it did not seem to be funny for Samson and he gave the former champions a brickbat saying “It’s ok for friends to do all this but teams should be professional”.

Rajasthan went on to delete the tweet in no time, but, a known Twitter account shared some screenshots and claimed that Sanju Samson has officially unfollowed the inaugural edition’s champions.

Sanju Samson was one of RR’s retentions for this season along with the likes of England wicketkeeper-batter Jos Buttler and emerging batter Yashasvi Jaiswal respectively. He has been offered a sum of INR 14 crore. The India T20I specialist would be hoping to lead the team well this time around after the Royals had finished at the seventh position last season.

Meanwhile, the Rajasthan Royals have issued an official statement after their captain Sanju Samson was unhappy with the team’s latest social media prank. After the Kerala wicketkeeper-batter had openly criticized the team for their actions, the Royals have now come forward and issued a statement. They have made it crystal clear that after the latest incident, they will be making changes to their approach and team on social media.

The Rajasthan Royals begin their IPL 2022 campaign against the Sunrisers Hyderabad at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune on March 29.
