Labelled as the ‘Next big thing’ in South African cricket, De Kock has established himself as an essential cog of the Proteas side. After making his ODI debut in 2015, the wicketkeeper-batsman has gathered 4907 runs in 115 matches at an average of 45.00.

De Kock has the potential to cement his place as a regular wicketkeeper for Mumbai Indians. Moreover, he can also open the innings with his aggressive display of batting. The left-hander’s T20 record has also been phenomenal. De Kock has scored 5067 runs in the shortest format of the game at an average of 33.8.

The young stalwart was also named as the Cricketer of the Year at South Africa’s 2017 Annual Awards. Mumbai Indians would find it hard to replace such talent from their squad. De Kock also had an astounding IPL 2019 where he amassed 529 runs from 16 matches at an impressive average of 35.26.
