Mumbai Indians making their playoffs road tougher after losing in their 2nd consecutive game at new home Vizag. Kings XI Punjab on other hand continue to do well under their new captain Murali Vijay. They now have 3 wins in 5 games under him while the two that they lost were last over finishes. After electing to bat, MI struggled on a slow pitch and managed to post only 124/9. Even though the pitch wasn’t easy to bat on, Vijay and Wriddhiman Saha kept the scoreboard ticking by picking up singles and finding the gaps. 6 – Number of Twenty20 centuries Rohit Sharma and Unmukt Chand have between them. Their pair is the first Indian pair in Twenty20 cricket to have 6 centuries in Twenty20s between them.

21 – Runs scored by MI in powerplay. The 2nd fewest they have scored in an IPL game. Interestingly, the top 3 instances of MI’s lowest powerplay scores in IPL have been recorded vs KXIP.

72 – Balls taken by MI to bring up the team 50. These are the 2nd most balls they have taken for team fifty in IPL.

116 – Murali Vijay and Wriddhiman Saha’s 117-run stand for the 2nd wicket is KXIP’s first century stand in IPL since 2014 Final.

372 – Runs scored by Murali Vijay in this season. This is first time since 2011 he scored more than 350 runs in an IPL season.
