Being asked to bat first Zaheer Khan said: “I didn’t think about the rain for sure. In the last game we had also decided to bowl first here. But after looking at the record and stuff, the decision was made to bat first. We’ve asked the guys to be flexible. We believe strongly in our processes. There is a specific plan with each and every game and that’s what we have followed throughout the tournament and that’s what we will look to do in the future as well. Three changes for us, NCN, Iyer and Shami are in.”

After winning the toss MS Dhoni said: “We’ll bowl first. Batting first? (he’s puzzled after being informed of the stats at this venue which favour the team batting first) It’s more to do with the wicket. I am not one to look into the stats. And also there’s rain forecast for the second half. That’s where we have struggled. We have been consistent with our bowling but not on the positive side. That’s where we have to improve for next season. That’s why we are giving games to bowlers keeping next season in mind. In times like these you want the bowlers to take responsibility. In place of M Ashwin we have Chahar.”
