Kings XI Punjab registered their 2nd successive defeat in the 9th edition of IPL as Delhi Daredevils opened their account at their home ground the Feroz Shah Kotla, with an 8-wicket win. After electing to bowl, Delhi Daredevils restricted KXIP to just 111/9 in the 20 overs as Amit Mishra ran through the Punjab’s batting with a 4-wicket haul.
Chasing a mere total, Delhi lost Shreyas Iyer early. However, Quinton de Kock and Sanju Samson took the game away from visiting team. After Sanju Samson fell with 12 runs more needed, de Kock along with Pawan Negi ensured an 8-wicket win for DD with 39 balls to spare.
