The 9th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has now reached a stage from where no teams can afford to lose matches. A defeat from here would only make things tougher for the sides on their road to the qualifiers. With a win over Rising Pune Supergiants, the Kolkata Knight Riders have strengthened their position at the top spot with 4 wins in 5 matches, a total of 8 points. Gujarat Lions moved to the second spot with a clinical win over the Royal Challengers Bangalore.
RCB received their 3rd defeat which still keeps them in the bottom four but with a good net run rate of 0.230. MS Dhoni led Rising Pune Supergiants suffered their 4th defeat in a row and still languish at the bottom of the points table.
