In the 25 matches played thus far, IPL 9 has already seen some tremendous ups and downs in the points table. Almost half way through the tournament, it is still very much in favour of every team to qualify for the playoffs, the Kings XI Punjab and the Rising Pune Supergiants, though, will have to win all their games hereafter in their bid to do so.
Rising Pune Supergiants have only made it tougher for themselves by losing the match against the Gujarat Lions. They remain at the 6th position with 5 defeats now. The Gujarat Lions have continued their dominion and have registered 6 wins in 7 matches to be on the top of the table with 12 points. Mumbai, with 8 points, has played the most number of matches in the tournament so far. The Kolkata Knight Riders, also on 8 points, maintained their second spot in the table kudos to a healthy net run rate, despite their loss against the Mumbai Indians.
