The 2022 IPL mega auction will take place on 12th and 13th February 2022. A total of 590 players will go under the hammer ahead of the 15th edition of the IPL, and all the franchises will be keen to pick the best talents available from the auction pool.

Two new franchises, Ahmedabad and Lucknow have been added to the Indian T20 league this year, as the IPL gets bigger and grander. A total of 10 teams will feature in the 2022 edition of the IPL. And, both these franchises have already chosen their 3 draft picks ahead of the mega auction.

While the Ahmedabad franchise picked Hardik Pandya, Rashid Khan, and Shubman Gill, the Lucknow franchise opted for KL Rahul, Marcus Stoinis, and Ravi Bishnoi. While Rahul will lead the Lucknow outfit, Pandya has been named as the skipper of the Ahmedabad side. Also, while KL Rahul will draw a salary of INR 17 Crores, Pandya will be paid a sum of INR 15 Crores.

590 players are set to be auctioned over the course of 2 days, and out of that, 228 are capped players, and 355 of them are uncapped. Also, while 370 will be Indian players, a total of 220 will be overseas players. And, 7 players have also registered their names from associate countries as well for the IPL mega auction this year.
