Chetan Sakariya is the only uncapped bowler to pick in this match.

The 12th match in this IPL 2021 season will start at 7:30 PM IST between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Mumbai. In this article, let us discuss the Season Long Fantasy League team setup for Match 12.

Both these teams played their last match in Mumbai and won with good bowling performances. Pace bowlers from both teams, Deepak Chahar (CSK) and Jaydev Unadkat (RR) rattled their opposition in their opening spell. In the end, Chris Morris (RR) played brilliant innings leading RR to victory from the jaws of defeat.

CSK plays their next two matches in a span of four days and RR plays their consecutive matches in a span of five days. So we can easily carry CSK players from this match. DD have a long gap after Match 13. So if we release all DC players, there is a possibility of carrying at least one RR player to their next match.

After Match 11, we currently have just one player from RR. We have a majority of the players from Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals. Even though Punjab has their next match in two days, we will have to release a few players from the Punjab team to accommodate the players from the other teams. We will make two transfers for this match.

Players available for the Current Match: Chetan Sakariya (RR)

Number of Transfers: Two (+ One Uncapped)

Number of transfers Remaining: 91

Transfer Out:

Jhye Richardson (PBKS): Jhye Richardson has been less impactful in the Punjab matches so far. So, he will be our first player to transfer out.

Chris Gayle (PBKS): We already have Mayank Agarwal (PBKS) and KL Rahul (PBKS), who did well in the last match. We can’t carry too many players. So, we want to release Chris Gayle, which will free up the overseas slot as well.

Arshdeep Singh (PBKS): Except PBKS players, all the other players in our fantasy team have a match in the next two days. So we choose to release Arshdeep Singh and we can get him back to our fantasy team via free uncapped transfer.

Transfer In:

Sanju Samson (RR): We have to make a choice between Sanju Samson and Jos Buttler for our player transfer. Both are destructive batsmen batting in the top three positions. However, Sanju Samson is highly inconsistent compared to Jos Buttler. So, both the players are good options and you can choose either of them.

We have chosen Sanju Samson because he keeps the wickets. When the team bats first, the pitch can assist bowlers initially and the swing bowlers could trouble the opening batsmen. Since Sanju Samson comes to bat at three, he might escape the initial swing.

Moeen Ali (CSK): Lungi Ngidi is available for the match. If he makes it to the final XI, it will be interesting to see whether Moeen Ali will retain his place in the final XI. Moeen Ali is promoted in the batting order and is bowling a few overs. RR does not have any left-handers in the top order. They have left-handers only in the middle order.

So, he might not bowl his full quota of overs. Considering his all-round potential, we are transferring Moeen Ali into our season fantasy team. Faf Du Plessis and Sam Curran are our next CSK player options to consider if Moeen Ali is not playing.

Our Fantasy Team:

KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, Sanju Samson (C), Mayank Agarwal, Suryakumar Yadav, Shikhar Dhawan, Moeen Ali (VC), Krunal Pandya, Avesh Khan, Chetan Sakariya, Lukman Meriwala.

Uncapped Transfer In:

Lukman Meriwala (DC): We have transferred out two bowlers from the fantasy team. Now we have to fill our mandatory bowler vacant slot. This match features only one uncapped bowler (Chetan Sakariya) and we already have him in our team. So, we are forced to transfer this uncapped bowler from the next match into our fantasy team.

There are good uncapped options from both teams. The uncapped openers from both the teams (Manan Vohra, Ruturaj Gaikwad) were disappointing in their previous matches. So it is possible that they may lose their slot. Other good uncapped options are Rahul Tewatia (RR) and Riyan Parag (RR) in the order of preference.

Captain: Sanju Samson (RR)

Vice Captain: Moeen Ali (CSK)
