Prithvi Shaw’s dazzling assault with the willow left the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) totally shattered. Showcasing the kind of ability that he has with the willow, the 21-year-old youngster destroyed the Kolkata bowling attack and scored a marauding 82 at a strike rate of 200.

Shikhar Dhawan played second fiddle to Shaw and scored a controlled 46 off 47 deliveries. And, the scintillating opening partnership of 132 between Shaw and Dhawan helped the Delhi Capitals wallop the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) with 7 wickets and 21 balls to spare. Delhi skipper Rishabh Pant played his part with the willow as well and scored 16 off just 8 deliveries.

For the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), it was Andre Russell’s cameo that powered them to a total of 154/6. The West Indian scored an unbeaten 45 at a strike rate of 166.67 to help the Eoin Morgan led side post a competitive total on the board.

Apart from Russell, youngster Shubman Gill also contributed a vital 43 off 38 deliveries at the top of the order. For the Delhi Capitals (DC), Axar Patel and Lalit Yadav scalped two wickets apiece, while Avesh Khan and Marcus Stoinis picked up a wicket each.

And with this victory, the Delhi Capitals have moved to 2nd place in the points table, while the Kolkata Knight Riders are occupying 5th place.

Quinton De Kock allows Mumbai Indians to romp home with ease

Earlier in the day, Quinton De Kock’s ravishing 70* off 50 deliveries allowed the Rohit Sharma led Mumbai Indians (MI) side to post their 3rd victory in the 14th edition of the IPL. The South African’s innings was filled with 6 fours and 2 sixes.

Apart from De Kock, Krunal Pandya also stood up for his side with the willow. The left-hander scored a brisk 39 at a strike rate of 150.00 to ensure that the Mumbai Indians (MI) went past the finish line with 7 wickets to spare. Chris Morris was the pick of the bowlers for the Rajasthan outfit.

The South African paceman picked up 2 out of the 3 wickets to fall for the Rohit Sharma led side, and gave away 33 runs in his quota of 4 overs.

For the Rajasthan Royals (RR), it was skipper Sanju Samson and Jos Buttler who powered the ‘Men in Pink’ to a total of 171/4 on the board. While Samson scored an attractive 42 off 27 deliveries, Buttler helped himself to a 32-ball 41. Rahul Chahar scalped 2 wickets for the Mumbai side with the ball in hand.

And with this triumph, the Mumbai Indians (MI) have moved to 4th place in the points table, while the Rajasthan Royals are occupying 7th place.
