Tom Curran has failed to make an impact in his IPL career thus far and his time with both KKR and RR were quite poor as he leaked runs at over 11 per over. Even his T20I economy for England is quite high as he concedes at more than 9, and hence it was surprising when the Delhi Capitals decided to buy him for an amount of Rs.5.25 crore.

He played the first two games this season due to the absence of Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje but didn’t do much as he picked up just one wicket while conceding at 9.78. Even Chris Woakes has performed well, and the chances of him getting another game look rather slim at the moment.

Given that only two overseas players can be retained, those slots are likely to be taken up by Nortje and Rabada with the likes of Stoinis and Smith also providing good options.
