Yuvraj Singh, Dinesh Karthik and all others who rocked the IPL 8 Auction: The Indian Premier League season 8 starts as soon as we are done with the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015. But, the buzz for the IPL is already turning on as we saw all the team franchises go out there in Bangalore to buy players for the season.

Here we have a compilation of the biggest names that went under the hammer, the most expensive player of the IPL Auction was once again Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh and following him from the previous season of the IPL is Dinesh Karthik. Some players got few interested buyers which helped franchises get them for lower prices. Indian pacer Zaheer Khan who has been out of action since the last IPL was bought in the second attempt. So was all-rounder Irfan Pathan, foreign players too made a few good deals.

All the details from the moment as they happened at the IPL Auction, the first and last players to get sold the star of the Auction, the unknown names who were surprise picks, all included in the IPL Auction updates.

It was not all about the names that mattered, a few big names from the international cricket circuit who we often refer to as legends found no interested teams when it came to bidding. Sri Lankan greats Kumar Sangakkara who is now the second leading run scorer in ODI cricket second just to Indian all time great Sachin Tendulkar went unsold even after three rounds of bidding. Team mate Mahela Jayawardene who is an equally crafty batsman, though conventional in his approach, can score quick runs as well.

Hashim Amla who has redefined the art of consistency, composure and compactness in South African cricket was introduced in the first round of the bidding process, but even at an economical base price no team looked interested in investing in Amla. He remained unsold and thus won’t be a part of the player playing in the IPL 8.

Other surprise was Ross Taylor finding no buyers in the IPL season 8 auction as the New Zealander is known world over for his attacking batting and his style of running away with the game. Kane Williamson another New Zealand player who now holds the key to the teams middle order and has emerged as one of the best batting talents around was picked up for a price one cannot easily relate to the value he brings into the squad.

So all in all it was an auction full of action, surprises, strategies and auction game play.
