Bangladesh made it to the final of the Tri-Nation ODI series alongside Windies after they defeated the latter by five wickets in the 5th game of round-robin stage. They chased down the target of 248 runs for the loss of five wickets with 16 balls to spare. The Caribbean team lost both their matches against Bangladesh but won two against Ireland. Bangladesh’s first game against Ireland was abandoned which meant they will be finishing as table-toppers irrespective to the result of the last match.

All the major stats and numbers recorded during Bangladesh’s second win over Windies in the series:

Bangla streak continues:

3 – This victory was Bangladesh’s 3rd consecutive ODI win against Windies. In fact, Bangladesh won six of their last eight ODI matches against the Caribbean side. Their two defeats against Windies are – by a 3-run margin and another by four wickets in a last over finish.

4 – Bangladesh won each of the last four ODI matches they played on the Ireland soil. They won four or more ODIs in a succession in only Bangladesh, Zimbabwe and now in Ireland. Bangladesh defeated Ireland and New Zealand in the last two matches of the Tri-Series held in 2017 just before the Champions Trophy.

A collective effort with the bat:

4 – Number of fifty-plus partnerships for Bangladesh is this game; the joint-most number of 50+ stands in an ODI for Bangladesh. They had as many as four 50+ partnerships in the 2013 Fatullah ODI against New Zealand and during the 2018 Dhaka ODI against Sri Lanka.

20 – All of Bangladesh’s top six batsmen scored 20 and more runs while chasing. This is only the 4th instance of Bangladesh’s top six scoring 20+ in an ODI game. The other three instances are 2009 Roseau ODI against Windies, 2011 World Cup game against India and the 2018 Dhaka ODI against Sri Lanka.

A big series for Hope:

396 – Runs Shai Hope has scored in this tournament thus far; the 2nd most by a Windies player in an ODI series/tournament since 2007. Chris Gayle amassed 424 runs in the home ODI series against England this year.

The 396 runs are the 2nd most by a Windies player in an ODI tournament in the last 20 years. Chris Gayle aggregated 474 runs across eight innings during the 2006 Champions Trophy.

A happy hunting venue for Fizz:

2 – Mustafizur Rahman claimed a 4-wicket haul in the ODI format both times he bowled at The Village in Dublin. Mustafizur played three ODIs here but one of the game got washed out before Bangladesh’s bowling. He picked up 4/23 in the 2017 ODI match against the home team Ireland.

Mortaza levels with Waqar:

97 – Mashrafe Mortaza has bagged 97 wickets in the ODI format while leading Bangladesh; the joint 4th most ODI wickets as a captain for any player.
