Bangladesh remains unbeaten in the league phase as they cruised to a comfortable 6-wicket win against Ireland in the last game. They will take on the Windies in the Final to be played on Friday at the Village in Dublin. The hosts Ireland crashed out in the round-robin stage without winning even one match.

Paul Stirling’s 141-ball 130 and skipper William Porterfield’s 94 helped the Irish team to finish on 292/8 with Abu Jayed bagging a 5-fer. Bangladesh’s top three Tamim Iqbal (57), Liton Das (76) and Shakib Al Hasan (50 rt. hurt) scored fifties before the middle order completed the chase with seven overs to spare.

All the major stats and numbers recorded during yet another Bangladesh win over the Windies:

Bangladesh’s top-order shines:

30+ – Each of Bangladesh’s top five has scored 30 and more runs in this game which has happened only second time in their ODI history. The first and only other instance was recorded during the 2014 Asia Cup game against Pakistan.

4 – This game recorded only the 4th instance of Bangladesh’s top three batsmen scoring fifties in the same ODI. The other three instances are 1999 Dhaka ODI against Zimbabwe, 2014 Asia Cup game against Pakistan and the previous game of this tournament against the Windies.

Bangladesh continue their streak:

5 – Bangladesh won each of the last five matches in ODI format they played on the Ireland soil. This is the first time they’ve won five or more consecutive ODIs in a country outside home. Bangladesh defeated Ireland and New Zealand in their last two matches of the 2017 Tri-Series.

Bangladesh replicates England in less than 24 hours:

5 – Each Bangladesh’s top five scored 35 and more runs during the chase similar to what England did on Tuesday against Pakistan in Bristol. Only on five instances, a team’s top five scored 35+ runs during an ODI chase.

The other three instances were recorded by Australia, Pakistan and India in the 1986 Rajkot ODI against India, in the 2005 Ahmedabad ODI against India and in the 2008 Asia Cup game against Sri Lanka respectively.

A big stand for Ireland:

174 – The 174-run partnership between William Porterfield and Paul Stirling is the highest 3rd wicket partnership in ODIs for Ireland.

The duo surpassed the 138-run partnership held by Andy Balbirnie with Ed Joyce in 2015 CWC game against Zimbabwe and also with Niall O’Brien in the 2018 CWC Qualifiers against Scotland.

174 – The partnership of 174 between Stirling and Porterfield is Ireland’s highest for any wicket against a full member nation in ODIs. They went past the 162-run stand by Kevin O’Brien and Alex Cusack in the 2011 CWC game against England.
