The CEO of the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) had recently announced that veteran Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan will be taking up the role as a player and coach-cum-mentor for the Jammu and Kashmir state team. Irfan will be working with a new team this year as he decided to part ways with Baroda Cricket Association after 17 long years. After being constantly ignored by the selectors and other things that went along, he also sought a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to play for another team.
Irfan confirmed the news of his latest association with the J&K state cricket team for the next domestic season. He seeks this new role to make some difference to the present state of Jammu and Kashmir cricket. The veteran Indian left-arm pacer also mentioned that he will also be playing his part in the overall development of cricket as a whole.
At Jammu and Kashmir, Irfan will also be working with the greatest Indian all-rounder and a legend Kapil Dev. JKCA is keen on developing their cricket and have roped in two really experienced cricketers who will add a lot of value to their young team.
“Very happy to announce that I will be playing and mentoring J&K team (JKCA) for the next domestic season. I’m confident of making the positive difference to their cricket and also play my part to the overall development of cricket” wrote Pathan on Twitter.
