Indian left-arm pacer Irfan Pathan who was supposed to be leading Baroda in the ongoing Ranji Trophy is currently working with former Indian cricketer TA Sekhar on ironing out his bowling technique. Irfan was ousted from the team after the first couple of matches without a legitimate reason, he shrugged it off and is rather focused on improving his skill further.

Irfan is in Mumbai and posted a video while training with Sekhar at the Purandare Stadium in Dadar. He thanked Pravin Amre for letting him use the facility as well as the bowling coach for his invaluable insights and guidance. Sekhar who played 2 Tests and 4 ODIs for India is famously known for his stint with the Delhi Daredevils as the bowling coach. The duo had earlier worked along when Irfan was a part of the Delhi based franchise and reunited now to polish things further.

As we understand, the left-armer is working on improving the loading. It is the reverse movement of the delivery arm right before bowling. The way a bowler loads the delivery determines not only the accuracy but also the pace he is able to generate and what angles he can create.

What Sekhar and Irfan are trying to do is make simple changes which are easy for him to adapt yet significant that improve the way the ball comes out of his hand which will enhance his accuracy. If they are able to implement it with precision he will also gain in terms of the swing as well as the pace behind the delivery.

In the video posted by Irfan on Instagram Sekhar is standing near the batsman and recorded a video of the bowling action after he delivered it, the duo has a closer look and the expert gives him a tip or two on balancing his body weight in a particular way while in the delivery stride to add more body in the ball.

Irfan in his post wrote- “Thank u T a Saker sir for working on my bowling n trying to make me bowl better N Thanks to @pravinamre for letting us use the practise facility at purandare stadium dadar”
