Ishant Sharma got engaged and was trolled by Rohit Sharma

Indian fast bowler, Ishant Sharma got engaged to Pratima Singh, who is a famous basketball player. The event took place at Delhi on Sunday. Ishant declared his engagement through his official page on Facebook.

The 26-year old Pratima Singh hails from Varanasi’s “Basketball Family of India”, who is a part of the Indian Women’s National Basketball Team. Her three sisters Akanksha Singh, Divya Singh and Prashanti Singh have also represented Indian National Women’s Basketball Team, who together are known as the “Singh Sisters”.

Talking about Ishant and Pratima, sources close to the couple were quoted in the media saying, “Both have known each other for long and have been good friends. The two families were looking forward to make their relationship official since some time now. Marriage should be by the end of this year.”

Ishant Sharma had featured in 68 Test matches and 80 One Day Internationals for India. He has picked up 201 wickets so far in his Test career with the best bowling figures of 7/74 in an innings at the Lord’s. In ODIs, he had scalped 115 wickets at a strike-rate of 32.4 with an average of 30.98. He has also claimed 8 wickets from 14 T20I matches.

Indian opener Rohit Sharma took this opportunity to wish Ishant on the engagement and welcomed him to the “Club’. He added a funny comment saying, at least on his engagement day, Ishant would chop off his long hair, but sadly he didn’t. Have a look at the funny tweet from the Indian opening batsman:
