Indian fast-bowler Ishant Sharma has fixed the date of his marriage on the ninth of December later this year once his commitments with the Indian team is complete. His bride to be or rather his fiancé Pratima Singh is a basketball player. The engagement ceremony took place on the 19th of June earlier this year.

While the Indian pacer will take some time off to fulfill his international commitments, it is clear that he will tie the knot once the England series is done and dusted. Pratima Singh is a basketball player hailing from Varanasi and has represented the Indian Basketball team at various international events including the Asian Games and is also the former captain of the Indian women’s basketball team.

Pratima Singh is one of five sisters and hails from a predominantly Basketball playing family. She is also the youngest of the five sisters all of whom have been involved with the sport as well. For 27-year old Ishant however, this will be a new chapter in his life and something that will be interesting for one and all to see how he has transitioned from the tearaway pacer to the player that he is today.

The 27-year old burst onto the scene all those years ago in Australia when he troubled the Australian batsmen with his fiery pace in 2007. He also famously dismissed Ricky Ponting on several occasions and also impressed with some high speeds whilst bowling. This also prompted former Australia skipper Steve Waugh to go on and describe him as the ‘next best thing to happen to Indian cricket’.

Since then, Ishant has seemingly seen it all in the world of cricket. He has been battered and bruised, injured and recovered, and has also been a part of the Indian side. 200 Test wickets and a win in the 2013 Champions Trophy has also ceased to stall his hunger for wickets and scalps in the game at the moment.
