It has been a dramatic turnaround for Kings XI Punjab after their week-long break as they lost 4 out of 5 encounters they have played. With winning 5 out of their first 7 matches, the men-in-red have unknowingly taken the undesired path and are relatively hoping to come back on their winning note. However, even to their losses in last few games, middle-order batsman Karun Nair has come to all praises for men-in-form KL Rahul and Chris Gayle who have been in some superlative form.

KL Rahul has been in scintillating form scoring over 500 runs in the tournament so far with five half-centuries to his name. On the other hand, Gayle has relatively slowed down after a thumping start to the eleventh edition of the Indian Premier League. Chris manages to still be in the limelight scoring 332 runs in the 8 games he has played so far, which includes a dazzling hundred and three blistering half-centuries.

KL and Chris batted Exceptionally Well

Talking to India Today, Karun Nair specifically mentioned and talked about the team effort which has helped them to win 6 games out of 11 they have played so far but also praised the duo for their effort. He said, “The matches that we have won, we have completely played as a team. Individual performances have helped like KL Rahul has batted exceptionally well in some of the games. Chris Gayle has also batted superbly in few games. But it has been a collective effort overall.”

Ashwin- Smart Cricketer

Nair also praised the skipper Ravichandran Ashwin, who took the captaincy baton for the first time in eleven years of IPL and has done a superb effort to help his team be on the third spot. Nair said “It’s been brilliant under Ash. He has done exceedingly well as a captain and to be captaining in the IPL for the first time, he has done exceptionally well.”

“He has always been a smart cricketer, if you look at his bowling he always has different plans for different batsmen and he can change it anytime during the game. He takes wise and quick decisions which is definitely needed in T20 cricket. I hope we win more games under his captaincy,” he concluded.
