David Warner has always been the backbone of Sunrisers Hyderabad’s batting line-up. Opening the innings alongside Shikhar Dhawan, Warner played a crucial role in the top order in the past few seasons. The Aussie batsman’s impeccable batting helped the team as their middle-order batsmen always failed to live up to the expectations.

With the ball-tampering incident, Warner decided to step down as captain of the SRH. In the wake of accepting the ball tampering charges, Warner alongside his Aussies’ captain, Smith have been prohibited for a year by the Cricket Australia and BCCI additionally chose to ward off the two from IPL.

No one can replace Warner

Replacing the Aussie batsman, Williamson took over as the skipper. However, Willaimson feels that it is impossible to replace the explosive opener, David Warner. “I don’t think it’s a matter of replacing David Warner. I think that’s probably an impossible thing to do. He is one of the best T20 batters in the world and for this franchise in the last few years,” the SRH skipper said as quoted by Telegraph India.

RCB is a fantastic side

“It’s nice to be on top of the table. But at the same time, I mentioned a number of times that we want to keep seeing those improvements, keep adapting to the different surfaces that we would be faced with in every game,” Williamson said when asked about the situation of the league.

“The RCB side, they are fantastic. There are a number of teams in the competition that haven’t come away with wins like they would have wanted to. A lot of those teams have lost really close games and things can be very different in T20 cricket. We know they are a very strong team with some of the best players in the world,” he added speaking on their next encounter.

The skipper also lauded his star performers – Rashid Khan, Siddharth Kaul, Dhawan and Saha for performing well in the tournament so far. SRH is currently at the top of the table with seven wins out of the nine games.
