Former India bowler Sreesanth shared a unique birthday wish for India’s former skipper and the legendary cricketer MS Dhoni, who turned 41 on Thursday (July 7). Wishes from all over the world poured in on social media for Dhoni. Not just fans, but current cricketers and former players have also shared some heart-warming messages for Dhoni.

Dhoni has been one of most special players to have donned the Indian jersey. His batting skills, especially the finishing touches, and his wicketkeeping skills have been all top-notch, but what was talked about the most, and still is, is his leadership quality. The veteran led India to all the major ICC trophies, and to date he remains to be the only captain to have done so.

He always wanted me to be the very best in every match: Sreesanth

Of all the wishes, few grabbed eyeballs, and Sreesanth’s birthday message was one such. He shared a video from the 2009 season of the IPL when he used to play for the Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings), where he dismissed the Chennai Super Kings skipper as his delivery struck directly on the stumps and Dhoni walked back to the pavilion. Calling it one of the best balls he ever bowled to a batter, Sreesanth wrote:

“@mahi7781..wishing u the very best birthday.great captain ,superb brother who always wanted me to be the very best in every match, and cherish every moment ..esp.this one my big brother.. love u bro. It was an absolute honour to get u out brother. the very best ball I’ve bowled to any batsman..that too to my big bro Mahi bhai.”

It was a special wicket for Sreesanth as he had dismissed Dhoni cheaply (two runs). As the video shows details about the CSK captain, Dhoni was just 27 years old back then and was at the peak of his career, which is celebrated by every Indian cricket fan to date. Before that particular match against Punjab, Dhoni had played just 29 IPL matches and had scored only 716 runs. As of today, Dhoni has been a part of 234 IPL matches and has 4978 runs to his name.
