Shardul Thakur is one of the experienced campaigners in domestic cricket and the 30-year-old’s never-give-up attitude has already brought a lot of success for India. He does give his 100 percent in all three departments and his immense hard work over the years has finally taken him to an excellent position now. Thakur has become a vital part of overseas wins for India and the seven-wicket haul at Wanderers yesterday is the best reward for it.

Shardul started with the breakthrough of Dean Elgar who was set for a big score and picked up Keegan Petersen as well a few overs after that. Just before the stroke of lunch, Thakur seized an opportunity to pick up another wicket and dismissed Rassie van der Dussen to leave the Proteas in disorder. He recently had an interview session with his Bowling coach Paras Mhambrey and BCCI posted a video out of it.

Shardul Thakur views on Sachin Tendulkar’s tweet

Shardul Thakur mentioned that he has always been backed by the God of Cricket from his childhood as they have shared the same dressing room in Ranji matches during his younger days. Thakur’s confidence levels have been his biggest strength and he will be eager to keep up his good work after being supported by big names.

“Congratulations to @imShard on picking up 7 wickets with his steady bowling and variations. Good support by the others,” Sachin Tendulkar’s tweet on Twitter

Here is Sachin Tendulkar’s tweet on Shardul Thakur

“It’s my pleasure that God himself has tweeted about me. Being a fellow Mumbaikar, I have played with him for a few games. He has always supported me as a youngster and it’s always good to hear from him. It’s big morale-boosting always” Shardul viewed on the Tweet with Paras Mmambrey

Thakur also noted that the series against England had initiated the name “Lord” for him which has become very popular now. The right arm seamer’s 7 for 61 is the best figure for an Asian bowler in South African soil and it is a monumental task for sure.
