Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah are two of the most intense players not only on the ground but even in nets as well. We have seen the Indian skipper going through his routine during practice sessions with full intensity and vigour, with the same zeal as he does in any match and that keeps him ready for when the time comes to perform in the middle.

Bumrah, on the other hand, is coming off an injury layoff but showed immense agility and control over the ball in the three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka recently. During the series, he also went past Ravichandran Ashwin to become the highest wicket-taker in T20Is for the Men in Blue. The two stars have been preparing for the Australian challenge as India will face them in the first ODI at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on January 14.

Virat Kohli hails Jasprit Bumrah as the best bowler in the world

On the eve of the first ODI between India and Australia in Mumbai, the Men in Blue sweated it out in the net session and Indian skipper Kohli took on the wrath of Jasprit Bumrah. The Delhiite has termed Bumrah the best bowler in the world across the formats. During a press conference, Virat Kohli was asked about their duel in nets and the Indian captain admitted that the bowler does hit the batsmen during practice.

‘He isn’t shy of hitting us in the nets’, Kohli was quoted as saying by timesnownews.com. He also mentioned that Bumrah wins the duels between the two. He also said that it is rare when he hits boundaries off him during the practice, but this time he turned out to be the winner between the two. “It isn’t often that you get to hit boundaries off Jasprit. I saw him going back to his marker to bowl another delivery but I got out of the nets,” Kohli said

Bumrah had picked seven wickets in five ODIs the last time Australia visited the Indian shores with the best bowling of 3/63 at an economy of 4.99 and an average of 34.85. India had lost that series 2-3, despite winning the first two matches, but the Kangaroos made an amazing comeback to win the remaining matches.
