England cricket team suffered a major setback on Thursday (August 5) with Jofra Archer getting ruled out for the rest of the year. The Barbados-born fast bowler’s elbow injury didn’t allow him to play regular cricket since last year. His wound deteriorated even further during the five-match T20I series against India earlier this year. Archer had to leave the tour midway and also pulled out from the now-postponed Indian Premier League.

After undergoing a surgery on his right elbow, the star pacer made a brief return in May. He even featured in a T20 Blast fixture and a 50-over friendly against Oxfordshire. While many expected the star cricketer to make a comeback soon, England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) shattered their hopes by announcing the bad news.

Another Jofra Archer’s tweet resurfaces

With the 26-year-old being one of the finest fast bowlers going around, social media got flooded with speedy-recovery messages for the bowler. Amid this, an old tweet from Archer also went viral. Now, cricket fans must be aware of Jofra Archer and his ‘prophetic’ tweets. Many of his old posts have gone viral having resemblance with current events.

The same happened after ECB made the major news officials. One of his tweets from July 2015 resurfaced which made fans think Archer knew about his injury back then. “Elbow” was written in the post alongside a laughing emoticon. The post went viral in no time with Archer’s prophecy once again becoming the talk of the town.

Meanwhile, many significant events are lined up in the cricket calendar. Hence, Archer’s absence could well hurt England’s campaign. The ongoing Test series against India will be followed by the high-voltage T20 World Cup. The Three Lions will also travel to Australia for Ashes 2021-22. The Barbados-born pacer will miss all these events and it remains to be seen how much his unavailability will cost England. Not to forget, he will also not feature in the remaining IPL 2021 season.

Archer made his international debut in 2019 and didn’t take long in making a mark. He, in fact, was instrumental in taking the Three Lions to the World Cup triumph in the very year. Hence, England fans would be hoping for the speedster’s speedy recovery.
