Gujarat Titans spinner R Sai Kishore opened up about his debut IPL game as he said he followed his instincts in the game against the Lucknow Super Giants on Tuesday evening. He played a crucial role with the ball and contributed well to his team’s victory at the MCA Stadium in Pune as he registered the figures of 2/7.

The Titans had opted to bat first, but the pitch conditions turned out to be difficult for the batters as they compiled 144 runs at the end of the innings losing four wickets. While it looked like an easy chase for LSG batters, GT bowlers gave them their toughest task in the league so far. Kishore spoke about his dream IPL debut in a video shared by the franchise.

“Just listened to my instincts and wanted to bowl that ball a little slower than what I delivered previously because I thought he was going to do something. I think the instincts just worked. Felt good to contribute like just wanted to give it all to the team. It was a tricky target that we defended so I just wanted to play for the team and give my 100 percent. Grateful that it came in my name but happy for the team qualifying as the first team.”

Hopefully, we will win: R Sai Kishore

Rashid Khan and Kishore led their way in the middle overs as they dished out the LSG lineup to end their game early. After Mohammad Shami worked his magic with the new ball, Kishore and Rashid took the job into their hands and wreaked havoc on the field. It was a nightmare for the LSG batters as they were all cleaned up for 82 runs.

Kishore was previously associated with the four-time champions Chennai Super Kings, but he did not get an opportunity to play and was eventually released by the team before the mega auction this year. Being with the GT for quite some time now, he feels that though they’re a new team, the support that they have received from the fans is commendable.

“The support from the fans has been fantastic. We will try to get better each game and play to our 100 percent potential and hopefully, we will win.”
