The two of the most humongous industries in India, Cricket and Bollywood have had a steady bond over the years. From cricketers dating Bollywood celebrities to B-town superstars owning IPL franchises, we get an example of the thriving relationship between the two industries very often.

In a similar incident, Kareena Kapoor made her entry into the list of Bollywood divas who went forward to reveal the name of their favorite cricketers. Disha Patani, Sunny Leone, and Katrina Kaif are among the few other actresses who had declared the names of their cricketer of choice during the ongoing IPL carnival.

Here is the story:

The 36-year-old actress in a recent interview announced Indian skipper Virat Kohli as the cricketer she likes the most and the reason being the batsman’s style of play. Kareena Kapoor did not stop at the declaration but also won the hearts of her fans when she threw a question in return to the interviewer about the ability of Virat Kohli’s efforts to Team India.

Kareena Kapoor came up with a wonderful answer when she was asked the all important question. “I love the way Virat Kohli plays. He is my favourite. Isn’t he already the next Sachin Tendulkar. After all, he’s the reason why we are winning so many matches in succession.” said Kareena.

The answer gives us a hint that the royal queen of Bollywood is a close follower of the gentleman’s game. It is not much of a surprise because Kareena Kapoor is also married to actor Saif Ali Khan, son of the legendary Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi.

However, Virat Kohli is going through a rough patch in his career began during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in India and left its impressions on the Indian Premier League as well. Kohli picked up a nasty shoulder injury during the Australia series but was declared fit to play after missing out the opening few matches of the IPL. But the world class batsman has failed to regain fluency in form since the injury and his team Royal Challengers Bangalore hit the rock bottom of the table.

The Indian cricket fans will hope Virat Kohli will let bygones be bygones and will be at his actual best in the upcoming Champions Trophy. India takes on arch rivals Pakistan to kick-start their Champions Trophy campaign on 4th June.
