Kedar Jadhav who has been around in Indian cricket circles for over a decade became an overnight sensation after he scored a century in the first ODI against England. He played the perfect partner to skipper Virat Kohli as the duo pulled the team out of trouble and navigated them to one of the best wins we have seen in recent times. Jadhav’s contribution was rated over Kohli and he was awarded the Man of the Match award.

Following the win, the star batsman from Maharashtra’s phone has been ringing continuously and that is too much for him to handle. As a solution, he has switched it to silent mode and hasn’t been answering calls. But that he believes will give people an impression that since he is a much bigger player in stature now he is avoiding their calls.

“I am getting a lot of calls. I have put my phone on silent mode. Now my close friends might think that I am acting like a big star,” Jadhav said during a media interaction in Pune.

He said that he is someone who doesn’t believe in relishing on the past and what’s done is done he likes to live in the present and work in the moment. His family and close friends have been strongly by him in doing that.

“Honestly, I want to stay grounded. But that is where my family helps because they know I don’t like to talk about what has happened. I try to stay in the present.”

The Indian team is currently practicing in Pune ahead of the Cuttack ODI since the hotels in the city are booked with the wedding season underway. They will fly there tomorrow (January 18) and both the teams will lock horns again in the second ODI in two day’s time (January 19). The Men in Blue lead the series 1-0 and will want to win the series at Cuttack.
