Team India is currently busy featuring in the ongoing historic Test match against Afghanistan in Bengaluru. The other players of the team including Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni are also in the same city as they are undergoing a fitness test ahead of the UK tour. The yo-yo test has been made mandatory now by the BCCI to make it to the national team and it is imperative for everyone including the skipper to clear the same before embarking on any tour or series.

All the eyes were on Virat Kohli which was obvious as he was ruled out of his County stint due to the neck injury he sustained during the Indian Premier League (IPL). He will be crucial to the fortunes of the team in the upcoming tour of the United Kingdom where they will be tested to the hilt.

How did Kohli fare?

According to the reports in IB Times, the fitness test of the Indian cricketers took place at the “B” ground in the Chinnaswamy Stadium premises. Virat Kohli looked at ease as he ran under the watchful eyes of Shankar Basu and others. Later, after interacting with his teammates, he took his shoes off and signed on a board which was probably a result sheet and went back indoors in the National Cricket Academy.

Apart from the captain, even MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Jasprit Bumrah Bhuvneshwar, Washington Sundar, Siddarth Kaul, Yuzvendra Chahal, Ambati Rayudu and Manish Pandey were also spotted taking the yo-yo test. The Indian board has already cleared that they will drop the ones from the squad who will fail to clear the fitness test much like the way Mohammed Shami was axed for the game against Afghanistan. The results of the test will soon be declared by the BCCI it seems and the fans would hope there will be no casualties.
