Everyone present in the stadium or watching the clash between Chittagong Vikings vs Khulna Titans on Saturday would have had their hearts in their mouth when Mahmudullah suffered a nasty blow on his head while facing a bouncer from Khaled Ahmed. The incident occurred pretty early in the innings when the Khulna skipper came to the crease in the fourth over after Khaled sent back Junaid Siddique on the first ball of that very over.

Mahmudullah comfortably defended the first ball he faced before being shaken by the vicious bouncer from Khaled on the very following delivery. The short ball from Ahmed crashed onto Mahmudullah’s helmet grill nastily before it came off his head and fell on the ground. Fortunately, the helmet did not land on the stumps as a visibly shaken Mahumudullah watched his rattled head gear bouncing on the pitch.

In the meantime, Khaled walked up to the Bangladesh star, checked up on him and apologised instantly. The other Vikings players also walked towards the batsman to ask him if he was fine. While the blow looked pretty nasty, luckily it did not hurt the batsman much.

Here is a clip of that incident:

Vikings beat Titans:

The Vikings, meanwhile, beat the Titans by 26 runs to register their fourth win of the season in five games and consolidate their position at number two on the table. On the other hand, the Titans remained rooted at the bottom after suffering their sixth loss in seven games.

Batting first, the Vikings posted a mammoth 214 for 4 in the allotted 20 overs. Yasir Ali and skipper Mushfiqur Rahim starred with the bat, scoring 54 and 52 respectively. Dasun Shanaka then slammed 42 off just 17 balls with the help of 4 sixes to fire the Vikings to a good total.

In reply, the Titans put up a good fight but were restricted to 188 for 8. Mahmudullah’s 26-ball fifty kept the Titans in hunt before David Wiesse revived his team’s hopes with a 20-ball 40 runs knock. But in the end, the Vikings managed to win the game comfortably.
