The 22nd match of the Kia Super League 2019 will be played between Southern Vipers and Yorkshire Diamonds at the Rose Bowl in Southampton.
The match starts at 6:30 PM local time (11:00 PM IST) (5:30 PM GMT).
Southern Vipers moved down to No.3 after suffering a 15-run loss against the Western Storm on Tuesday. Heather Knight and Fran Wilson scored fifties to power the hosts to a total of 170/3. Daniele Wyatt looked like chasing everything herself. She scored a 32-ball 58 before getting out in the 10th over. The Vipers couldn’t just match the required NRR and were restricted to just 155/9.
On the other hand, Yorkshire Diamonds got only their 2nd win of the season. They defeated Surrey Stars on Tuesday where the Diamonds chased down the target of 121 with a ball to spare. With 8 points from six matches, the Yorkshire Diamonds would require a miracle from here on for qualifying for the finals day. And that miracle will be possible if they can defeat the Vipers on Friday.
The Southampton is expected to be clear throughout Wednesday. However, since this game starts at 6:30 PM local time, there is an outside chance of the game interrupted towards the end. Little chances of rain are predicted from 9:00 PM local time.
The Rose Bowl has been a perfect venue for chasing when it comes to Kia Super League. Two teams won by batting first here since 2018 that too by a narrow margin after posting 150+ totals. In another two fixtures, totals under 150 were chased down comfortably.
Average first innings score: 142 (KSL games since 2018)
Record of chasing teams: Won – 2, Lost – 2
