The 23rd match of the Kia Super League 2019 will be played between Yorkshire Diamonds and Lancashire Thunder at the North Marine Road Ground in Scarborough.
The match starts at 2:30 PM local time (7:00 PM IST) (1:30 PM GMT).
Lancashire Thunder has had a disastrous campaign thus far. The team, led by Katie Cross, doesn’t seem to find a light at the end of the tunnel. They are languishing at the bottom of the points table with only a couple of points from seven matches. Their Net Run Rate of -1.002 also tells a lot about their indifferent performance. Their next match is versus the Yorkshire Diamonds in Scarborough.
The Diamonds, on the other hand, still have a chance of going to the next round, sitting on eight points from seven matches. The Lauren Winfield-led unit would’ve been disappointed after it lost by three runs, failing to chase down 128 against Southern Vipers. Another loss could put their campaign in the doldrums as Surrey Stars, who are above the Diamonds, have three points more than them.
There is no chance of rain, which means that an uninterrupted game can be expected. The atmosphere will be pleasant with the temperature around the 22 degrees mark. The humidity will be in the 80s. There will be clouds, but they won’t convert into a downpour.
Only one match in the KSL has taken place at the venue. The game was the witness to the highest successful chase in the tournament. Western Storm chased down 173 in 19.2 overs. Hence, it won’t be a surprise if the teams opt to field first after winning the toss. A high-scoring match can be expected.
