KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant come out in support of Indian skater Nishchay Luthra

Indian cricketers KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant have made a heartwarming gesture by coming out in support of the Indian skater Nishchay Luthra. Adidas, a well-known sports equipment company has launched a campaign in the name of “#FanFire” for raising funds in order to help Nishchay to participate in the 2018 Winter Olympics and represent the nation.

Rahul, Rishabh and the former Indian Under-19 World Cup winning captain, Unmukt Chand, who are the brand ambassadors of the brand, have extended their support by changing their display names and making shoutouts to their supporters for donations to help in raising the funds for Nishchay. Indian star opener Rohit Sharma also tweeted about the campaign in support of the Indian skater.

All about Nischay and the campaign

Adidas started their campaign by including a video of Nishchay Luthra which reveals the hard work he has put in over the years and the vigorous training he underwent in the United States of America from the age of 10 years under the coaching of Vasudev Tandi who helped him graduate to Ice Skating. Nishchay was heavily backed by his mother as she spotting the talent in her son at an early age. Between 2011 and 2016, he has won about 15 medals at the National and International level.

Nishchay, who is 18-year-old now has won 12 medals at National Championship which includes 9 Gold and 3 silver medals. He has bagged a Gold and a Bronze medal at the International level as well. However, due to lack of funds, he had to return from the USA and needs higher financial aid to continue his training and represent India in the coming Winter Olympics.

The shout out from the cricketers has gained a significant response as many followers of these Indian players are now keen to know about the Skater, his achievements and his story. So far Rs. 1.5 lakh have been raised for Nishchay whereas the target total is Rs. 35 lakh by July 19th.
