KL Rahul takes over Rishabh Pant's baby sitter role; Twitter can't stop laughing

KL Rahul has been India’s go-to man in the last couple of months. He has been in exceptional form with the bat in the limited-overs form and has literally batted at every position in top five in the last 9-10 months. Moreover, he took over the role of a wicket-keeper in the second ODI against Australia last month after Rishabh Pant suffered concussion while batting.

Since then, the latter is yet to play an international game with Rahul being preferred over him as the specialist wicket-keeper batsman. Rather, the Indian captain Virat Kohli cleared that the Karnataka batsman donning the gloves gives the team a better balance and they will stick with him for a decent period of time.

KL Rahul, the man who was fighting for the opening position with Shikhar Dhawan in the ODIs and T20Is, has now cemented his place in the side thanks to his scintillating form and most importantly, wicket-keeping. In addition to all these roles, he also led India in the field in the fifth T20I against New Zealand after Rohit Sharma injured himself. This also led to some memes coming out on social media terming Rahul as one man solution for all the problems.

No wonder Rishabh Pant will be feeling hard done after being sidelined even as he was under constant scanner of the fans on social media due to his reckless batting.

KL Rahul’s latest tweet leaves Twitter in splits

To make things worse for him, KL Rahul posted a throwback picture of babysitting the sports presenter Jatin Sapru’s daughter which has led to Twitterati trolling the Delhi cricketer. “In best company #tb @jatinsapru,” Rahul wrote in his tweet. Interestingly, Jatin Sapru himself quoted the tweet stating the 27-year-old is excelling in yet another role.

And this led to Rishabh Pant facing the wrath albiet in a funny way. On India’s previous Australia tour, Tim Paine had offered the youngster a babysitting role during a banter on the field. Later, Pant’s picture with Paine kids went viral and ‘babysitter’ saga stayed in the news for quite a long time. However, after KL Rahul’s latest tweet, Twitter reckons that Pant has been robbed of the babysitting role as well.
