Due to VVIP movement in the city, Kolkata is currently facing hour-long jams. The President of India Pranab Mukherjee and former prime minister Dr. Manmohan Singh are also in the city. Both of them are also attending the bi-centennial celebrations at Presidency University. The Indian cricket team and the English side were stuck in traffic for at least 30 minutes while heading to the team hotel in Alipore from the airport.

Rapid Action Force personnel escorting the teams to the hotel were seen asking the motorists and bikers to maintain a safe distance from the team buses. The police had a horrid time in keeping fans from getting too close to the team buses. Just like any other city, fans in Kolkata were excited to catch a glimpse of the players from both the sides.

Traffic on the road from Science City to Park Circus is usually very busy. The Bengal Global Business Summit is being held at the Milan Mela grounds and that is leading to a lot of chaos on the road that connects Park Circus to the Eastern Metropolitan Bypass.

India currently leads the 3-match ODI series 2-0, after winning the 2nd ODI by 15 runs, following heroics from Yuvraj Singh and MS Dhoni. Yuvraj notched up his 14th ODI century while Dhoni registered his 10th. Yuvraj departed after scoring his career-best score of 150 while MS Dhoni gave the finishing touch before heading back for 134.

For England, it was skipper Eoin Morgan who fought a lone battle, scoring 102 runs before getting run out. India had added 200 plus runs in the last 20 overs after English paceman Chris Woakes troubled the top order with three quick wickets. For India, Ravi Ashwin picked up 3 wickets. Yuvraj was adjudged the man of the match. The Kolkata ODI will be played on 22 January.
