Rohit Sharma was busy donning the skipper’s hat, making changes to the field, and taking care of bowling changes in the 2nd ODI against the West Indies. And, in the 45th over of the West Indies’ innings, Sharma told Yuzvendra Chahal something that has caught the attention of social media.

Sharma asked Chahal why he was not running well on the field and sent the leg spinner to field at Long off. Washington Sundar was the bowler bowling that over.

“Kya hua tereko. Bhaag kyu nahi raha hai theek se. Chal udhar bhaag,” Sharma was heard telling Chahal in the 3rd ODI. You can see the video of the same below.

Prasidh Krishna’s superb spell helps India beat West Indies by 44 runs

Batting first, India posted a total of 237/9 on the board. KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav played vital knocks for the ‘Men in Blue’ with the willow in hand. While Rahul scored a 48-ball 49, Yadav helped himself to a patient 64 off 83 deliveries.

For the West Indies, Alzaari Joseph and Odean Smith scalped 2 wickets each with the ball. In reply, the ‘Men in Maroon’ failed to bat their quota of 50 overs and were bowled out for 193. While Shamarh Brooks scored a sedate 44 off 64 deliveries, Akeal Hosein scored a 52-ball 34.

Prasidh Krishna was outstanding with the ball. The right-arm pacer picked up 4 wickets in the 9 overs that he bowled, and gave away just 12 runs in the process as well. Apart from Krishna, Shardul Thakur also bagged a couple of wickets.

India have already wrapped up the three-match ODI series, and have taken an unassailable 2-0 lead. The 3rd and final ODI of the series will be played on 11th February 2022 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

After that, the two teams will lock horns in a three-match T20I series, which will kickstart on 16th February 2022. All the T20I matches will take place at the Eden Gardens in the city of Kolkata.
