Pakistan Super League franchise Lahore Qalandars organized the second phase of PDP (Player’s Development Programme) which is named as the rising stars, in search for raw talent. The program is scheduled to begin from August 27.

The PDP will comprise of three different phases and the talent hunt is named as the First Phase. As many as 16 players from each venue would be forming teams and these teams will compete against each other in a city-based tournament in the second phase. Out of which, 15 players will be selected to fly down to Australia.

This time around, the program will include talents from Azad Kashmir unlike on previous occasions. The team is captained by former Black Cap Brendon McCullum. Apart from Baz, the other major names in the team are Jason Roy, Sunil Narine, and James Franklin. Amongst the Pakistani contingent, Yasir Shah, Fakhar Zaman, Azhar Ali and Sohail Tanvir feature wearing black and reds of Lahore

Fakhar Zaman is one of the products of Lahore’s PDP. Thanks to his impressive performances, he was selected in the national team and stole the show in the recently concluded Champions Trophy. He scored a brilliant century against the Indians to lift the coveted trophy.

We have a relentless, fearless zest for life and an abundance of talented youth, Qalandars have created this platform for this youth to make its mark, to excel and showcase their talent across Pakistan and to the rest of the world through this PDP and Sydney tour,” claimed Fawad Rana, chairman of Lahore Qalandars according to Geo TV.

“The aspiring cricketers will not have to seek nationalities of developed cricketing nations for opportunities. All they have to do is to come to Qalandars and we will give them a chance at a competitive level,” added the CEO of Lahore Qalandars Atif Rana.
