'Learned from the best' - Irfan Pathan and Yusuf Pathan involve in Twitter conversation after the former steer India Legends to win

India Legends faced Sri Lanka Legends in the third match of the on-going road safety series at the DY-Patil Sports Academy. It was a low scoring encounter with Sri Lanka Legends posting a total of 138 runs on the board. Munaf Patel showed a glimpse of the old days as he was the pick of the bowlers and took 4 of the Sri Lanka Legends wickets.

It was difficult for Sri Lanka Legends to cross 130 at some point, however, 12 runs came off the last 3 balls from an unlikely source as Rangana Herath smashed Zaheer Khan for three consecutive boundaries to conclude the Sri Lankan innings at a respectable total.

India Legends had the worst possible start as they lost their captain, Sachin Tendulkar for a duck, with Chaminda Vaas dismissing him with a well-planned delivery. Sachin showed a moment of sportsmanship, like he always has, as he walked off without waiting for the umpire’s decision. At one point, India were down to 3/19, even before the power play was done. Chaminda Vaas took two wickets in 3 overs in his opening spell and showed why he is the most successful pacer in Sri Lankan history.

Irfan Pathan demolishes Sri Lanka Legends; Yusuf Pathan delighted

Sri Lanka Legends looked to be the clear favourites to win the game before Irfan Pathan did what he does the best, at that is to get the team out of trouble with his power-hitting. Mohammad Kaif played the second fiddle while Irfan went berserk and took Sri Lankan bowlers to the cleaners. He scored 57* runs off just 31 balls and helped India Legends bag their second win of the series, helping them move to the top of the points table.

Following this spectacular knock of Irfan Pathan, his proud brother, Yusuf Pathan, took it to Twitter to appreciate the knock. The Pathan brothers have won matches for India out of losing situations countless times and this was another instance where one of them saved India from an embarrassment.

Yusuf Pathan tweeted that he loved watching Irfan Pathan’s batting under pressure, especially the power-hitting and the sixes which he hit easily.
