One of the batting mainstays of the South African lineup, Faf du Plessis is in tremendous form in the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020). Playing a vital cog in Chennai Super Kings (CSK) batting line-up, Du Plessis has collected 365 runs in nine fixtures averaging over 52 while maintaining a strike rate of 142.57. He is the highest run-getter for the Yellow Army.

On Sunday, October 18, Faf’s wife Imari took to her official Instagram handle to ask for something from her husband. Posting the picture of Faf, shared by CSK on their profile, Imari jokingly suggested her husband the idea of having more babies. Replying to his wife, Faf wrote that he is ready for this.

The cricketer had tied the knot with his long-time girlfriend Imari in 2013 at Kleine Zalze and they were blessed with their first child, Amelia du Plessis in 2017. In August 2020, they welcomed their second child Zoey du Plessis.

Sharing this delightful news with his fans via his Instagram handle, the South Africa skipper had posted a picture with his wife and captioned it as, “The Miracle of a new life coming into this world makes me stop and just be in awe of creation and how perfectly and wonderfully we are created. Welcome Zoey to this wonderful world. We will love you unconditionally and I will protect with everything I have. Love you.”

CSK’s campaign in the IPL 2020

The three-time champions Super Kings (CSK) have been struggling to find the rhythm in the 2020 edition of the T20 extravaganza. The franchise seems to be lacking on all the three fronts be it batting, bowling, and fielding. So far, they have managed to win only three out of their total nine games played. In their most recent fixture in IPL, they saw a defeat against Delhi Capitals by five wickets in Sharjah after almost registering a victory.

The Yellow Army is now languishing at the seventh position in the points table. But the fans are still hopeful that their favourite Thala (MS Dhoni) can spark a turnaround from their next clash against Rajasthan Royals on October 19.
