On last Sunday, India created a history by becoming the first team in 140 years to whitewash Australia in a series in Australia. Now, with this 3-0 win, India will go into the 2016 T20 World Cup with lot of positives and a sheer amount of confidence. As Brian Lara, Dean Jones etc. has expressed their views about who are the favourites to win the World Cup and as we have seen over the years that Indian cricket team is tough to beat in their own territory and in the mega event like this certainly India are the hot favourites to lift the World Cup.

MS Dhoni has said that this will be the most likely Indian squad that will play in the World T20 after India beat Australia in third T20I. With just more than one month to go for the tournament, the ICC have set a deadline on February 8 for all the teams to announce their squads of 15 members and New Zealand and Bangladesh have already announced that.

BCCI will announce India’s squad on February 5 and it is just a day away and let us take a look at the likely Indian squad for the World T20.

1. Batsmen

Available Batsmen: Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Ajinkya Rahane, Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Kedar Jadhav, Manish Pandey, Gurkeerat Mann Singh, Mandeep Singh, Ambati Rayudu, Shreyas Iyer

Indian batting unit is certainly looks settled and with Raina and Yuvraj’s heroics in the last T20I against Australia, they will make it into the squad of 15 players because of their experience and ability to win the games for India over the years under pressure. Ajinkya Rahane is also fit and he will get a chance because of his ODI form and his ability to play attacking innings as we have seen him in IPL so he can be backup of Shikhar Dhawan and other than this, there is only one spot is open and that may be filled by in-form Manish Pandey or it is a rare possibility that India includes out of syllabus player for that place.

Possible Batsmen: Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan, Suresh Raina, Manish Pandey, Ajinkya Rahane.
