Some bloom late and play until they are made to leave or some are so good that they are made to stay on despite being past their prime. And then there are these gentleman who aged like a fine wine which gets better with age. Here are the players who have made most scored of 50 or more after they turned 38. 5- Clive Lloyd (West Indies) Clive Lloyd made 5 50+ scores.(Photo Source: ICC) Former West Indian Captain Clive Lloyd played well into his 30s for West Indies. He was the first captain to lift the World Cup 2 times. Lloyd was a great leader and captain that made West Indies the most dominant team of the 1970s and 1980s. 5- Alec Stewart (England) Former England Wicketkeeper Alec Stewart made 5 scores of 50 or more in ODI after he turned 38.(Photo Source: Getty Images) Alec Stewart played for England from 1989-2004 as a batsman, wicket keeper and captained England with considerable success. Stewart was a stylish right handed batsman who was probably the best batsman they had, but keeping the wickets brought his average down, but England wanted him to keep and so he did. He retired from cricket at the age of 40 after playing 100 tests for England. 6- Sunil Dhaniram (Canada) Canada’s Sunil Dhaniram scored 6 50 plus scores after the age of 38. Born in Guyana and played first class cricket with Shivnarine Chanderpaul and Carl Hooper, Dhaniram moved to Canada and was picked up as an all-rounder and played for them in the 2007 World Cup. 7- Sanath Jayasuriya (Sri Lanka) Sanath Jayasuriya made 7 scores of 50+ after he turned 38 in ODIs. He is one the few players to have significant impact on the ODI and Test cricket due to his style of batting. A wonderful player with aggressive instinct but could play the waiting game as well, evident from his 340 against India in 1997. 10- Geoffrey Boycott (England) Geoffrey Boycott, former England batsman and probably the most dourest player on the planet, hit 10 scores of 50 or more after he was 38. He was dropped from the team in 2002 and recalled in 2007, since then he has been the backbone of the Pakistani team. Misbah has never made a hundred in ODIs, but he has 23 scores of 50 or more after he turned 38 years old.
