Preview

Australia Under-19 will lock horns with England Under-19 in the 2nd match of the ongoing series at the Allan Border Field in Brisbane on February 15. The first match of the tour was played at the same venue where the visiting team won the toss and elected to field first. Having put to bat first, Australia posted a massive total of 349 for the loss of six wickets owing to a brilliant century from Harry Dixon. Davies, Aitken, and Salzmann also played good supporting roles for the team. Thomas and James took two wickets apiece for England.

Chasing a huge total, England needed to start well and made some quickfire runs but lost the way too quickly. They lost multiple wickets in quick succession, which affected their chase, and hence were eventually bundled out for 230 runs. They could not even play full 50 overs and were all out before entering the last powerplay. The whole bowling unit of Australia did a good job. William, Austin, Tom, and Thomas took two wickets each. Australia won the match quickly, with a significant margin of 119 runs. Having already played a match here, England would expect themself to bounce back in the next game, put up a better show with the bat, and leak lesser runs with the ball.
