In the chase, Sri Lanka also lost early wickets and looked in trouble, but the fifties from Samarawickrama and Asalanka put them back on track and won the match by five wickets.

Afghanistan had played against Pakistan in their last match, where Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat. Choosing to bat was not too bad a decision as they had a decent opening stand, but what stood out was the third wicket partnership where Babar and Rizwan both went on to score fifties. Their knock helped Pakistan push to a total of 268 runs. Afghanistan, in reply, did not start as they needed to and kept losing wickets. Even though Mujeeb smashed the fastest fifty by an Afghan player, the total still seemed to be more, and they lost the match by 59 runs.
