Preview

Emirates Red will lock horns with Sharjah in the 6th match of the Emirates D50 at the Malek Cricket Stadium 2 in Abu Dhabi on November 10. Sharjah and Emirates Red have a similar record so far, registering a win each from their lone matches, and are placed second and third, respectively.

Emirates Red last played against Abu Dhabi, where Abu Dhabi won the toss and elected to bat. Though a little slow, Abu Dhabi had started well and had an opening partnership of 42 runs. They had a mini collapse with the fall of the first wicket, but the experienced pair of Kamran Atta and Ali Abid calmed the storm and took the team to 217 runs. Emirates, in reply, started off really well, with the opening stand lasting for 92 runs. This prepared a good stage for the middle order to come and conquer the chase. They easily chased the total down and won the match by six wickets.

Sharjah last played against Emirates Blues, where Emirates Blues won the toss and elected to bowl. Being put to bat, Sharjah started aggressively and had a high-scoring rate but, in the process, started losing wickets. By the score of 75, they had already lost six wickets, but then Fayyaz Ahmed showed his class and got support from other lower-order batters, due to which they posted a good total of 257. In reply, Emirates Blues started off really well with several significant partnerships upfront. But as soon as the middle order came into play, they fumbled and started losing wickets. Soon, they were bowled out for 220 and lost the match by 37 runs.
